Farheen believes that stories run the world and make it a better place. Driven by an English literature undergraduate degree, she worked as a creative producer and project manager for Star Plus, a national entertainment broadcaster in India. She also co-founded a non-profit organisation that provides safe spaces for students to express themselves through theatre and film. She moved to Canada in 2019 and worked as an accessibility producer with a production house in Toronto.

Currently enrolled in the MA-MBA pathway at Toronto Metropolitan University, she's pursuing a Master of Media Production at The Creative School and the MBA at the Ted Rogers School of Management. Her business research and creative practice centers the adaptation of South Asian literature to North American film and television. She believes that engaging with diversity is the key to producing commercially successful and meaningful entertainment in today's global markets.

When she isn't creating content, she is busy consuming it - through books, TV and films. She hopes to one day travel to every country in the world, letting each country, its food and its tea inspire her writing.

Why did you decide on the Ted Rogers MBA program?

TMU understands that creative education and business education go hand in hand. The ability to pursue both an MA and MBA at the same time makes this a unique and holistic program. The Ted Rogers MBA's strong industry connections help self-starters find their footing through a culture of opportunity, inclusion and mentorship. Every class brings together diverse individuals and this allows for strong peer-to-peer learning alongside academic and co-curricular exposure.
