Ayderus Alawi is a criminal defence lawyer who practices law in the Greater Toronto Area. Ayderus runs a busy, high-volume practice much of which is devoted to working with members of marginalized communities. Ayderus has practiced law for nearly 12 years. He obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University. He also completed a Juris Doctor and a Master of Law (with a specialization in Criminal Law and Procedure) at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School. Ayderus has a strong commitment to social justice issues. Ayderus sits on a number of Boards and Committees that work to support members of equity-deserving groups. He also devotes a lot of his spare time throughout the year, on a voluntary basis, to facilitate know your rights workshops and to provide summary legal advice to members of the community who are overrepresented within the criminal justice system.
Why did you decide on the Ted Rogers MBA program?
I chose the Ted Rogers MBA Program because of its course offerings, the knowledge base of the faculty, and the networking opportunities that are available all within the heart of the city. I feel that a Ted Rogers MBA will equip me with the necessary leadership skills as I continue to grow and expand my law practice. The flexible study options set me up for success, as they allow me to find a balance between working full-time and pursuing my MBA on a part-time basis.
