Finding business opportunities in any environment

As a User Experience (UX) Designer at TD, Elham Farahaninia has honed her skills in creating a new product from scratch that is based on both the user and business's needs.

Graduating from the MEIE program has helped her professional career at TD and her social innovation start-up business with her three teammates. Her start-up aims to amplify the public's voice by collecting information on how many people are affected by societal issues and sending this data to decision-makers who can better understand existing problems and hidden issues.

What does Elham love about the MEIE program?

"This is the uniqueness of this program; it doesn't really matter what you study, what you've learned before, or what you're doing now. If you have an idea, then you can start building and creating".

Elham picked this program because it helps students have a different point of view, think more deeply, and create collaborative networks. The most important thing she has learned is how to see problems in any environment and find ways to develop business opportunities that will solve them. She enjoys the many different pathways one can take after graduating, such as having the opportunity to work as a project manager, designer, or product owner.

The knowledge she has gained from the MEIE program has helped her team at TD move forward and have a quick turnover, which has impressed her coworkers and made her a star player in a short amount of time.
