Namir Ahmed
Namir Ahmed is an educator, researcher and Digital Media artist with over 10 years of experience in pre-production and visualization in film and television. His research leverages new and innovative methods of preserving and disseminating cultural heritage through education and engagement. His current focus is best practices for implementing XR technologies in the humanities.
Over the past 8 years, Namir was the lead for TMU Library’s Digital Media Experience Lab, an experiential learning space focused on digital literacy. There he worked closely with TMU faculty, students and staff to support digital media in curriculum, research and entrepreneurship. Implementing innovative programmings such as the “Emerging Technology” speaker series and the “Creators Grant”.
Namir holds a Master of Information Science from the University of Toronto, a post-grad diploma from Seneca College in Digital Technical Production, and an Honours BA from York University in Anthropology.
