Andrea Romero
Andrea is an entrepreneur turned intrapreneur with a passion for retail, fashion, and technology. As the Co-director of Entrepreneurship at the Creative School Innovation Studio and Fashion Zone, Andrea leads innovative programming, including the Indigenous Fashion Support (IFS) program and the Fashion Zone incubator, accelerator and mentorship programs. In her role as the Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Enterprise Partnerships, Andrea oversees a diverse portfolio, including the Conduit Esports and Gaming Lab Red and the Healthcare User Experience (HUE) Lab. She has a BComm in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and an MBA from Ted Rogers School of Management, specializing in the Management of Technology and Innovation. Prior to her work at Ryerson, she worked on the leadership teams for notable Canadian start-ups, Mejuri and Ingomma. Andrea is part of multiple professional organizations, including the Canadian Retail Educators Association (CREA), holds several advisory/board positions, and teaches courses in Entrepreneurship, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Digital Marketing. With deep roots in strategic innovation, she is passionate about community building, start-up ecosystems, fashion and retail, academic research, and consumer behaviour.
