Biography

Naing Lin Aung, going by William Aung, is recognized for his meticulous attention to detail and empathetic approach in all his collaborative interactions. Originally from Yangon, Myanmar, William graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from the University of Toronto in June 2024. Despite his academic background in architecture, William discovered his passion for UX/UI and Interaction Design, which he diligently pursued through self-study on platforms like LinkedIn Learning.

With a strong belief in the power of empathy and precision, William thrives in collaborative environments where he can teach, support, and inspire others. His passion for user experience led him to complete a UX Design certificate program at BrainStation, further enhancing his expertise. Now pursuing graduate studies in Digital Media, William is eager to explore creative solutions to improve user experiences, particularly in education. He looks forward to embracing the interdisciplinary nature of his Master of Digital Media program, combining his diverse skills to innovate and create meaningful impact.

Why Digital Media?

After getting to learn more about UX/UI Design through self-studying on the side during undergrad, William wanted to take a step further and learn more about the field of Digital Media and what future technologies and advancements in AI will bring to this field. His focus is still on UX/UI and Interaction Design and he chose the Master of Digital Media program to explore the many opportunities it may provide for him to grow as a creative, expand his network, and build up his portfolio. In particular, the interdisciplinary nature of the program offering a combination of technical, creative, entrepreneurial, and collaborative endeavors made him continue to pursue graduate studies in Digital Media right after his undergraduate studies.
