Biography
Momna is a passionate designer and technologist pursuing a Master's in Digital Media (MDM) at Toronto Metropolitan University. With a deep interest in interaction design (IXD) and human-centered technology, her work explores how digital solutions can enhance user experiences and address real-world challenges.
Her current research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with a particular emphasis on developing technologies that support neurodivergent individuals, such as those with ADHD, ASD, and other mental health conditions. Momna aims to create tools that bridge the gap between neurodivergent and neurotypical people in productivity and education. She is driven by the belief that technology can be a powerful equalizer for underserved communities.
In addition to her research, Momna enjoys sharing her knowledge through lectures and workshops on interaction design, gamification, and multi-touch gestures. She is also an avid fitness enthusiast, aiming to inspire balance and well-being through her journey of personal growth.
Why Digital Media?
I chose the Masters of Digital Media (MDM) program because it aligns perfectly with my ambitions and the direction I want to take in my career. First, I have a deep interest in creating digital products, particularly in the realm of education and interaction design. One of my goals is to build a game that simplifies the learning process for interface design and helps others understand UX/IXD concepts better through an engaging, gamified experience.
Additionally, I'm fascinated by the potential of narrative-driven games or immersive AR/VR spaces, where players can shape their own stories through their choices. This blends my creative side with my technical interests, allowing me to explore how interactive storytelling can lead to new forms of user engagement.
Emerging tech, especially in education, is another key area for me. I’m excited about developing innovative solutions that could improve the learning experience—whether it’s creating a “fitness app” for study habits or a tool that helps track the quality of a student’s work based on assignment requirements.
Finally, I’d love to explore building a learning language model or a feedback tool that enables teachers to provide personalized, actionable feedback to students—helping them improve in meaningful ways. The MDM program provides the perfect environment for me to explore these ideas, gain technical and creative skills, and push the boundaries of what's possible in education and digital media.
