Biography

Maykel is a digital media enthusiast with a passion for storytelling through the creation of multimedia content. From Photography and Videography to Graphic Design and 3D Animations, he aspires to use many forms of digital media to make a positive difference in the world around him. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media from York University, with a specialization in Game Arts, where he concentrated on UI design, as well as 3D character modelling and animation.

During his time at York University, he also worked as a Graphic Design and Multimedia Assistant for the Faculty of Science and as a Digital Support Assistant Leadhand in Scott Library's Media Creation Lab, gaining valuable insights into the diverse applications of digital media in various fields and occupations.

Maykel also has interests in UX/UI design, web design, product design, and interior design, and wishes to explore more of these fields in his digital media future. 

Why Digital Media?

Now more than ever, digital media is present in almost every aspect of our day-to-day lives, and the digital media industry will be a huge part of our future. I believe that this is the best time to invest in exploring the ever-growing digital media field. The MDM program at TMU was the perfect fit for me due to the transdisciplinary nature of the program. The hands-on approach to the design aspect of digital media, coupled with education on the business and entrepreneurial techniques of the industry, will provide me with the foundation needed to excel in my future career and truly master the art of digital media.
