Biography
Dione has a passion for building brands and is known to add her own creative flair to the process. She started off in the branding field in 2005, in her hometown Karachi, working with global consumer brands like Colgate. Half of her career was spent working in traditional marketing and as Pakistan entered the digital era in 2012, she was quick to adapt and learn on the job. With no formal training in digital marketing or ecommerce she was responsible for transforming local, small budget trade products into digital brands, increasing their market share and brand recall.
She believes in marketing with a purpose and is committed to being an advocate for female empowerment through education. Her work in the feminine hygiene industry in rural Pakistan led to many firsts in changing behavior and awareness.
Her love for media was incorporated to educate the target audience via emotive storytelling and interactive on-site school programs.
When she’s not working, she loves cooking up a storm with her children and travelling. Her favorite hobby is people watching to understand consumer behavior.
Why Digital Media?
Digital Media is all around us and will continue to evolve in the coming decade. It is a critical function of business, art, play and life. However, being fascinated by it as a medium is quite different from understanding how to use it or work with it. My choice to study Digital Media at TMU is to gain a better understanding of the tech side of media to better equip my knowledge for the future.
