Biography
Born in Romania and raised in Canada, Lorena Florea completed her undergraduate degree in the Graphic Communications Management program at Toronto Metropolitan University with a concentration in Packaging and a minor in Communication Design. In May of 2022, she briefly attended Hochschule der Medien, a University in Stuttgart, Germany, and completed a two-week exchange program. Throughout this time, she learned more about creative problem-solving, innovation and entrepreneurship. During her undergrad, Lorena's two most notable achievements were winning first place in the Nestlé Turtles Redesign competition and achieving 13 Idealliance certificates. She loves designing websites, creating package prototypes, playing video games, making short films, and playing badminton. Lorena also has a background in coding. She has been programming since grade 11, taking various computer science courses and participating in multiple hackathons. She finds UI/UX designs fascinating and would love to do something with them in the future. She is currently employed at SGK, working on Kellogg's team as an account coordinator and is able to witness new, up-and-coming cereal designs before they launch. She is excited to continue pushing boundaries and achieving her goals.
Why Digital Media?
Coming from a print background, I saw this program as an opportunity to challenge myself, enhance my skill set, and pivot into the digital space. Digital media is evolving at a rapid rate and is always presenting both challenges and opportunities to be noticed. While in the MDM program, I hope to extend my abilities to adapt quickly to new situations and continuously provide solutions to everyday problems. I'm looking forward to discovering new passions while reinforcing old ones and learning more about the ever-changing technology landscape.

The Effectiveness of Sustainability Labels in Driving Consumer Attention in E-Commerce: An Eye-Tracking Study
This study investigates sustainability labels' influence on consumer attention in e-commerce, exploring attitudes, social norms, and perceived control's impact on behaviour. Using eye-tracking technology, the study examines how effectively eco-friendly labels communicate information and their role in promoting sustainable consumption. Through experiments on participants navigating an e-commerce website, this study provides valuable insights for retailers, consumers, and environmental advocates, advancing our understanding of sustainability labels' influence on consumer behaviour and environmental outcomes.
