Biography

Layan graduated from McMaster University and has a passion for digital media practices, innovation, communication, and strategy analysis. Through her undergraduate degree, Layan was able to expand and deepen her understanding of the foundations and theoretical framework of the media industry, which has led her to explore her interests in building using social media, and digital storytelling. Layan Joined the MDM program hoping to expand her technical skills and work on industry-supported projects.

Why Digital Media?

I think in this day of age, digital media is a tool that can harness so much power and enables one to innovate and create in a larger capacity than ever before. Over these past few years, I have witnessed technology evolve and expand to heights that have been previously doubted and seen as unachievable. The MDM program is an environment that encourages students to problem solve, critically think and creatively strategize. The program looks at digital media through many lenses and equips students with the tools and skills they need to enter the industry.
