Biography

"Yifan’s passion for media, communication, and culture has led her to work and gain experiences in traditional media and new media. At an early age, the roots of creating a community around media have been her objective and are evident through the conception of the literature club, which she presided on during her high school years, which led to her determination of a life-long career in media and communication. 

She has experiences in newspapers, magazine publications, websites, video production, and social media management, through which she gained skills such as news writing, interview, digital editing, and digital marketing. Growing along with the rise of social media, Yifan witnessed the change of the media environment and discovered her interest in transforming media and its audiences.

After graduating from university, Yifan decided to study for a Master of Digital Communication and Culture at the University of Sydney and completed an internship at an international media group in Australia. Upon her graduation, she worked as the Residence Hall Assistant Director and explored several meaningful ways to create an incredible community through the means of digital media for the students."

Why Digital Media?

While studying in Australia, I discovered my interest in digital media, especially observing people’s behaviours online. Through this program of Master of Digital Media, I aim to gain more hands-on skills, to better understand the new media audience throughout the world.
