Biography

Since 2003 Jared Lorenz has produced, written, framed and edited linear video stories, first in news and documentary, then in corporate, commercial, and most recently in long form, music videos and fine art.

He received a BA in English and Communications Studies from the University of Calgary and began freelancing in independent media after short stints coordinating in agency-side Advertising, then in client-side Marketing and Communications.  

In 2012, Jared launched a program where media production expertise and equipment arrive on location by cargo bicycle. Since that time, the team has delivered support by bike, transit and train to hundreds of productions around the Greater Toronto Area.

Why Digital Media?

Ryerson’s MDM will be an academic challenge, and will be a place to prototype and test new technologies.
