Biography

Emilie Trimbee is a Lighting and Video Designer working in Toronto. Emilie has worked in theatre for the past several years with an interest in the technology integrations used in live performance. After a Research assistantship during her undergrad she began looking more deeply into augmented reality pre-visualization for lighting design. After graduation from her BFA she worked as a freelance lighting designer and theatre technician before working for a year as a product specialist at Blacktrax. During her time there she traveled to work on large scale shows such as touring Ice shows, Broadway shows, and other experiments and workshop integrations. Concurrently, she tried to find time to work as a designer in what little free time she could find. 

Why Digital Media?

Emilie finds digital media integrations into live performance fascinating. It can be very expensive in the live performance world to have the latest and greatest technology, and Emilie wants to help integrate live performance techniques with existing and affordable technology that could help to improve workflow, design, and maybe bring something never before seen to the field.
