Biography:

Erin is a photographer and digital creator.

Erin completed a BA in Multimedia at McMaster University in 2019, where she focused her studies in photography, art, and design. She completed an undergraduate thesis project in the form of a narrative photography book featuring rescued/adopted pets and their stories.

Her interests lie in the ways that media can influence our perceptions and ideas about ourselves and the world around us. Currently, Erin is conducting research in the space of commercial media and its impact on beauty standards and aesthetics. She plans to create a mock digital magazine publication reflecting her research in an ironic and unconventional way. She looks to challenge the way we think about our media consumption and the impact it has on the way we think about appearances. This creative project will combine aspects of photography and design to ironically expose the real messages that commercial media communicates about aesthetics.
