Biography:
Dawsyn Borland is an award-winning producer and director with a diverse history in non-fiction production, creative arts, and character-driven storytelling.
Holding a BA in Media Production from Toronto Metropolitan University’s RTA School of Media, Dawsyn has been recognized for her work as both a storyteller and an entrepreneur. As a freelance visual storyteller and a former producer for the Discovery Channel Canada, she has been afforded the opportunity to work with a number of high profile brands, agencies and companies to include NASA, Guinness World Records, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Facebook, Red Bull, and Humble the Poet. An alumna of the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival’s Doc Accelerator Program, she has also been nominated as a Top 10 Finalist at the DMZ x Mastercard Women in Entrepreneurship Competition, and was part of the production team that won a Canadian Screen Award for Best News Information Series in 2017 (Daily Planet, Discovery Channel Canada).
Dawsyn currently leads the strategy, marketing, business, and production initiatives for the "Global Campus Network", an international media project that connects university students, researchers, and educators from 15 countries around the world on creative projects in real time.
Now pursuing her Masters of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University (’18), she intends to focus her research on experiential and interactive character driven documentaries.
