Biography:
As a native of Ottawa, Kellie recently received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Specialization in Communication after attending the University of Ottawa for five years. Throughout her five years, Kellie was a member and captain of the women’s varsity basketball team. Most of Kellie’s experience with digital media has been concentrated in the area of athletics, where she worked for University of Ottawa Sports Services and for Canadian Interuniversity Sport.
One of Kellie’s favourite courses at the University of Ottawa required her to create a blog; something she was extremely passionate about (you can follow her on Instagram @whats.ringing (external link, opens in new window) ).
Kellie hopes to gain a more thorough understanding of digital media and digital marketing to be able to apply her increased knowledge in the hospitality, sports, event hosting and entertainment industries. Her passions beyond sport include photography, fashion and cooking, and she hopes to be able to apply these passions with her love for digital media. Along with completing her master’s, Kellie will be playing for the women’s basketball team at Ryerson and is excited about the opportunity to develop her skills and passions in the digital media world.

Digital Media is changing the way we can connect to people around the world, how we sell products, market them and even market ourselves. It is a constantly evolving medium and I am very excited to grow with it. I’ve always had a knack for creating and designing, and believe the MDM program will challenge me even more to step outside my comfort zone and work with a variety of different individuals who share the same passions and interests.The future is bright!
