Elizabeth is interested in tools for communication; information design, video and animation. She is interested in learning about cutting edge technology and discovering how it can be used as a tool for education purposes in the classroom, in business and for personal growth.

Biography

Elizabeth Basskin is an artist, teacher and designer. Her work includes analog games, illustration, graphic design and video. She has a Master Degree in Digital Media from Toronto Metropolitan University and her final project "Don't Hate the Player", a card game that teaches teens social media mindfulness, was incubated in Ryerson’s Transmedia Zone. She has also presented this game at the 2017 Ontario Art Educators Conference.

Her work concerns history, technology, the moving image and the ephemerality of the performing arts. Her documentary “Elizabeth’s Queen”, was exhibited three years in a row in Nuit Blanche. Last year her “Virtual Time Capsule”, a performance based 360 video incorporating local Toronto History and Dance was exhibited at the Campbell House Museum.

Now that she has completed the MDM program Elizabeth continues to expand digital media knowledge as a MDM and Transmedia Zone alumnus.

Why Digital Media?

Digital Media is a driving force that is altering the way we work, consume, create and share media. As an artist, educator and filmmaker, Elizabeth is interested in using Digital Media as a tool for communication and education.
