The Make-Up Test Centre can support students with the administration of both remote and in-person tests/exams.
We are pleased to announce that the Make-Up test centre now administers paper and pencil tests/exams and computer-based tests/exams. The computers can be used for the exams which are already uploaded into D2L, and students will have access only to the Microsoft Office package and Acrobat Adobe Reader for their exams.
For in-person make-up tests/exams, students must be enrolled in an in-person course, which has a scheduled in-person quiz, test, or midterm for the entire class. For remote tests/exams, The Make-Up Test Centre team is available to support Faculty with make-up requests in D2L.
Students registered with Academic Accommodation Support (AAS) who need to schedule an accommodated make-up, please go to AAS Student Portal

For Faculty
Any Toronto Metropolitan University student with a valid One Card, including undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students, who received permission from the course instructor.
Please note: For larger classes (Chang School, TRSM or Engineering), the department may have established processes for administering make-up tests/exams. We encourage departments to continue administering their own make-up test/exams for large classes.
A make-up test/exam, written without academic accommodation in the Make-up Test Centre, is an opportunity for students who missed a scheduled test/exam to fulfill the requirements of a course. This must be approved by the instructor.
A test/exam written at the time of the class, or as a make-up with academic accommodation, is administered through the Test Centre and will be requested by the student through Clockwork. Instructors will receive specific Academic Accommodation Letters for students registered with Academic Accommodation Support and will approve test/exam requests through the specific Clockwork link sent via email.
The student booking request is not completed until the Test Centre receives instructor approval. Instructors can deny any request that has not been approved prior to the student’s submission.
Yes. To schedule this, please initiate a “Multi-Request” within the Make-up System. This feature allows instructors to fill out one page containing all information for the test/exam, including the student numbers of all students who need to write. The system will send an acknowledgement email to each student upon submission.
Please note: Students must acknowledge the request within seven business days or their individual request will be cancelled.
Yes, instructors can do this by assigning a “Proxy” approver.
Please note: This must be a Toronto Metropolitan Administrator or TA. Instructors are not allowed to assign another instructor as a proxy. Course listings in the Make-up Test Centre system are pulled via instructors, directly from RAMMS, and cannot be reassigned.
In the event that a student misses a scheduled make-up test/exam, a second make-up may be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor. Should the student be a “no-show” on the day of the make-up test/exam without having provided advanced notification, only the instructor can allow the student to rebook. There is a waiting period of seven days to rebook at test.
