Marju Toomsalu MA

Marju holds a B.A. and a teaching certificate in English Language and Literature from Tartu University, Estonia and an M.A. in Second Language Education from OISE, University of Toronto. She has also pursued graduate studies and conducted research in Sociology of Language. Marju joined the English Department at Ryerson University in 2003 as a faculty member and has held the position of EAL Programs Director since 2007.  Marju’s research interests include second language teaching and learning, language testing, and language policy.

When not thinking about languages, Marju loves to travel and read novels to satisfy her curiosity  about other languages, cultures, and ways of thinking. She also loves the great outdoors, even in winter.
