Safia Thompson announced as Lincoln Alexander Law's Inaugural Valedictorian
It is with great pleasure that we announce Safia Thompson as the inaugural Valedictorian for the Lincoln Alexander School of Law!
Safia is an accomplished 3L student who has exemplified the law school's pillars, maintained academic excellence, and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills as a Founder and former Co-President of the Black Law Students' Association. With a focus in civil litigation, Safia’s diverse range of interests in the legal field include Professional Liability, Employment and Labour Law, and Real Property & Planning.
Known for her focus on community-building, Safia aspires to create a legal community that embodies the values upheld by the Lincoln Alexander School of Law and Toronto Metropolitan University. Safia's dedication to fostering inclusivity, promoting diversity, and upholding ethical standards showcases her commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment.
The Lincoln Alexander School of Law Valedictorian Award is presented to one student from the graduating class who has made a meaningful contribution to the law school and positively impacted members of the graduating class over the 3-year JD program. The competitive selection process involves being nominated by student peers and subsequently evaluated by a committee of faculty and staff.
Throughout her law school journey as a member of the Class of 2023, Safia has epitomized the spirit of the Valedictorian through her empathetic leadership, academic excellence, and unwavering dedication to community-building.
