
Maureen Silcoff
Maureen Silcoff is a partner at Silcoff Shacter and has practiced immigration and refugee law since 1988, spending 5 years as a Member of the Immigration and Refugee Board. Maureen’s practice includes complex litigation and refugee and immigration presentation at the Immigration and Refugee Board and in the courts.
Maureen was President of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL) from 2019-2021, where she managed litigation, advocacy and conferences.
Maureen is a past refugee law instructor at UBC’s Extended Learning program and co-designed the Ethics and Professional Responsibility course for Queen’s Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law.
Maureen speaks at conferences and in the media to advance access to justice for immigrants and refugees.
Maureen has been teaching at Lincoln Alexander School of Law since 2021, having designed and taught public interest litigation, and immigration and refugee law courses.
