Karol Pawlina

Karol is a Toronto business lawyer and intellectual property lawyer. He received his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016 as a Barrister and Solicitor. He is also a Registered Trademark Agent in Canada with the College of Patent and Trademark Agents and Engineer in Training with the Professional Engineers Ontario.

While in law school, Karol gained valuable experience assisting with a variety of intellectual property matters, including intellectual property litigation, trademark prosecution at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Toronto. Prior to attending law school, he completed an Honours Bachelor of Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Biomedical Engineering, where he graduated with distinction.

Since being called to the Ontario bar, Karol assisted clients with a wide range of corporate, commercial and intellectual property work. His favourite work is drafting contracts and agreements for clients, such as: services agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, share purchase agreements, and asset purchase agreements. He also enjoys helping entrepreneurs and professionals set up their corporations and pursue trademark protection.

Karol has helped dozens of clients with their mergers and acquisitions, both share transfers and asset transfers. Recognizing the complexity of these transactions, Karol focuses on providing a holistic and pragmatic approach to provide effective legal services to clients. He understands the competing concerns clients face when engaging legal counsel and strives to be responsive to client’s needs. Karol often works with accountants to ensure transactions receive the appropriate tax input necessary to be tax efficient.

On a personal note, Karol was born and lived most of my life in Toronto. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing. He is also fluent in Polish.
