Financial Information
Financial Information
In addition to numerous scholarships and fellowships from the federal and provincial governments, private foundations and other organizations, Toronto Metropolitan University provides two major sources of funds that will be available to MJ students, Toronto Metropolitan University Graduate Fellowships and Toronto Metropolitan University Graduate Development Awards.
For more information about financial assistance for graduate students, see Graduate Studies - Scholarships and Awards. (opens in new window)
Faculty members in the School of Journalism regularly hire Research Assistants, and qualified MJ students will be given priority in hiring for these positions.
The School of Journalism is beginning to use Teaching Assistants more extensively in its undergraduate program. Second-year students in the MJ program would be qualified to serve as TAs in undergraduate journalism courses, while first-year students with appropriate degrees could work as TAs in other academic departments such as History, English or Economics.
