Daniela Olariu

News Media Production Specialist

Daniela is a News Media Production Specialist at the School of Journalism that specializes in post production for broadcast journalism. She joined the team in 2017 after graduating from the journalism program.

She provides technical user support and administers training to students, faculty and staff for curricular and co-curricular production work. She conducts technical workshops on the proper and safe operation and use of specific equipment and software programs used in audio, video and digital media productions. She also organizes and maintains equipment and facilities for the School.

Prior to her career at Toronto Metropolitan University, Daniela produced content for Rogers Sports & Media magazines. She was a writer and photographer for The Eyeopener and Ryerson Folio and videographer for Ryerson TV News. She was also the Managing Editor of Digital at On the Record and ontherecord.ca (external link) 

Prior to her studies, she lived in South Korea where she pursued her International Baccalaureate at Busan International Foreign School. She also volunteered at the Nquyen Nga Centre in Hanoi, Vietnam.

In June 2024, she completed the Digital Graphic Design certificate program at Seneca Polytechnic.
