Cheryl’s focus is on emerging news technology, digital storytelling tools and she has a passion for data journalism and data visualizations. Her students work at Sheridan College has been nominated for a Global Editor’s Network Data Journalism Award in the same category as the New York Times, ProPublica and MotherJones, and an Online Journalism Award nomination. Cheryl does freelance web design when she’s not teaching. She has a combined English and International Development degree from Guelph University, a postgraduate diploma in Journalism from Sheridan College and a Masters in Education from Brock University.
