Faculty of Science Snapshot: Dumebi’s Perspective

Dumebi Osadebe, a Computer Science graduate from Nigeria, shared details of her international student experience in the Faculty of Science at TMU.

What were some unique experiences you had as part of the Faculty of Science?
I was part of SciXchange, a centre that showcases and supports the talents of minority groups within the Faculty of Science, and the Race Forward Program – a mentorship program that pairs Black students with Black-identifying mentors.
What extracurricular activities enticed you the most at TMU?
The opportunity to be part of a start-up project in TMU's unique Zone Learning ecosystem!
What were some of your highlights from your time at the Faculty of Science?
Taking the Algorithms course, taught by one of my all-time favourite professors, Dr. Yeganeh Bahoo, and attending Women In Computer Science club (external link) meetings.
