Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science Snapshot: Faheel’s Perspective

Faheel Haider, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Pakistan, shared details of his international student experience in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at TMU.
What courses did you take?
From Communication and Economics, to Technical and Graphical Drawing, Computation and Programming, and Philosophy, I’ve done it all!
What resources provided by the faculty were helpful to you?
The First-Year Engineering Office organizes study halls and creates student learning groups tailored to various FEAS classes. Our Engineering Society (external link) also assists you academically. They have an exam bank, and they offer tutorials of their own.
What were some of your most memorable experiences at TMU?
I was a member of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Concrete Canoe Team – a design team where we had to design and construct a canoe out of concrete and race it with other universities!
What did you like best about your faculty?
A huge number of design teams, student groups, and course unions on campus. As a result, workshops, design team projects, competitions, and events are constantly taking place!
Did you think you were set up for success before you graduated?
Yes, I’ve met several upper-year students who received job offers because of their work on TMU's design teams!
