Students work with cutting-edge technology and industry-level equipment in any of The Creative School’s innovation hubs to push their creative boundaries. International immersion opportunities and summer internships make The Creative School an exciting choice for international students.

Jennifer Nguyen, a Journalism graduate from Vietnam, shared details of her international student experience in The Creative School at TMU.

Why TMU?

You can count on opportunities for experiential learning built into your four years in every program to put what you learn in the classroom to the test.

Why Toronto?

I hoped to work in the media industry and knew downtown Toronto would be a great place to accomplish that.

What did you like about your classes?

I had smaller class sizes when it comes to lab time, which helped me engage better with both the material and my instructors — who are truly experts in their field.

What were some of your favourite extracurricular activities?

I’ve been part of the masthead of publications such as CanCulture (external link)  and Her Campus (external link)  after starting out as a volunteer writer!

What supports offered by The Creative School do you recommend?

You can sign up for free networking nights or career workshops designed specifically for creative fields from as early as first year.

For international students such as Jennifer wanting to build creative careers, The Creative School acts as the perfect route to their desired professions. Learn about the different kinds of programs offered in The Creative School, and the experiential learning components in each!
