Geoff Regan - former Member of Parliament, cabinet minister and Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada

The Honourable Geoff Regan, P.C., is a former Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada and cabinet minister. He was elected eight times, serving as Member of Parliament for Halifax West from 1993 to 1997, and from 2000 to 2021. He was Parliamentary Secretary to the Government House Leader (2001-2003), Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Minister Responsible for Nova Scotia (2003-2006), Speaker (2015-2019), and held various critic roles in opposition. Before entering politics, Mr. Regan practiced law and was an active community volunteer. He is married to the Honourable Kelly Regan, a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia, and a former Deputy Premier. They have three adult children and live in the Halifax area.
