Understanding how learning and forgetting interact: theory & application

This project is a SSHRC-funded collaboration with Dr. M.Y. Jaber in which we are developing approaches to modelling the impacts of learning and forgetting in workplaces. The project is also incorporating fatigue and recovery issues into related models. While the patterns may seem obvious - performance speed increases as we learn and decreases as we forget - the actual patterns of performance as an employee moves between different tasks can be difficult to predict precisely. This project is creating modelling approaches that would allow managers to test the impacts of different sequences on the performance of the system and the fatigue load on their employees.
