Areas of ExpertiseI currently work on multiple projects primarily focused on defining mechanisms of rare genetic diseases including Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Batten’s disease. Additionally, I am also involved in identifying and analysing the roles of key players in ciliopathies. Our lab uses proximity-dependent proteomics and image-based screens for critical protein associations that become affected upon mutation of a particular gene and when exposed to drug therapies. Besides, my work also focusses on drug-protein association mechanisms with the long-term goal of achieving favorable outcomes in reducing pre-clinical toxicity due to off-target effects and in drug re-purposement programs.

I am a trained researcher with 10+ of years experience in interdisciplinary research, specializing in Cancer and Rare Genetic Diseases. I pursued my doctoral studies at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), TATA Memorial Cancer Centre, Mumbai, India. My work was devoted to understanding the biological roles of the human HtrA proteins in pathogenic conditions such as Cancers, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. I currently work on multiple projects primarily focused on defining mechanisms of rare genetic diseases including Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Batten’s disease. I have dabbled in a diverse range of fields from Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Molecular Biology to Cellular Biology and Computational Biology.
