Areas of ExpertiseDisease modelling, developing mathematical models to understand the spread and persistence of infectious diseases, spread of infectious diseases including COVID-19, mathematical modelling,j stochastic modelling techniques (discrete and continuous-time Markov chains and Monte Carlo simulation), sensitivity analysis in assessing the accuracy of a model, in model development and in model reduction, identifiability analysis to understand the specific contribution of parameters, machine learning and data science

Dr. Samaneh Gholami is a postdoctoral research fellow under the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) led by Drs. Silvana Ilie and Katrin Rohlf. She has extensive experience in data-driven modeling and analysis of infectious diseases and vaccine development. Having worked as a postdoctoral fellow with leading researchers in the National Research Council of Canada's Fields Institute collaboration center, Samaneh has expertise in developing and applying mathematical and statistical models to understand the dynamics of infectious diseases and design optimal vaccination strategies. She is also a contract lecturer in a variety of subjects, including data science and math/stat at TMU, York University and University of Waterloo. Samaneh is passionate about using her expertise in data science to solve real-world problems related to vaccine modeling and infectious diseases.
