Dr. Aziz Rahman

Aziz Rahman has long been engaged in interdisciplinary research, teaching and community development work. He earned his doctoral degree from the University of Manitoba (UM). He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) Migration and Integration at TMU. Aziz has taught sociology, criminology, and migration and displacement courses at the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba. He has taught as a faculty member in Bangladeshi universities for over ten years. Aziz is the recipient of a number of scholarships including the SSHRC Joseph Bombardier Doctoral Scholarship. His PhD thesis explored refugee economic integration in Canada. Aziz’s SSHRC-funded postdoctoral research focus is on refugee entrepreneurship in Canada, with the goal to identify to policymakers the factors affecting the successful labor market integration of resettled refugees in Canada.
