Dr. Heather Rollwagen appointed associate dean, programs, YSGPS

Dr. Heather Rollwagen looks forward to helping TMU graduate students thrive as associate dean, programs, YSGPS.

Dr. Heather Rollwagen has been appointed associate dean, programs, YSGPS for a five-year term effective May 1, 2025.

A Sociology professor and graduate program director of the Policy Studies PhD program, Dr. Rollwagen serves on the Academic Standards Committee, the Senate Appeals Committee and as faculty advisor for co-operative education for the Faculty of Arts. Dr. Rollwagen previously served as the Sociology undergraduate program director, as well as on various TMU committees, including the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee, the Standing Strong (Mash Koh Wee Kah Pooh Win) Task Force and as a Faculty of Arts senator.

“I've seen firsthand how investing time and attention into the quality of our graduate programs creates greater student access, engagement and success,” said Dr. Rollwagen. “I'm excited to work closely with faculty across TMU, supporting their vision for programs that will enable graduate students to thrive.”

The search committee wholeheartedly recommended Dr. Rollwagen for this critical YSGPS position based on her extensive administrative leadership and significant contributions to the Senate Academic Standards Committee. In addition, Dr. Rollwagen was recognized for her thoughtful handling of Senate appeals and genuine passion for policy and quality assurance.

Dr. Rollwagen takes on the position following Dr. Janet Koprivinikar’s excellent leadership as interim associate dean, programs over the past year, and Dr. Mehrab Mehrvar’s effective work as interim during the final two months of the search.
