Do you find it challenging to achieve your goals and stay on track? Sometimes it can be a challenge to navigate your academic and career development. Using an Individual Development Plan (IDP) can help!

An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a written tool for you to effectively visualize and achieve academic, professional, and personal goals in your graduate and postdoctoral training. By crafting SMARTER goals and creating realistic milestones for success, IDPs can help increase productivity and maintain accountability to aid in your career development. Additionally, IDPs can help you stay organized and stay on track throughout your academic and professional journey. They also allow you to revisit and re-evaluate your goals and decide whether to continue or switch your focus elsewhere.

In this session, you will learn what an IDP is, how to create one for yourself and involve your mentor/ supervisor in the process, and some resources for career path exploration will be shared.
