Kimberley Gilbride teamed up with geography professor Claire Oswald to provide the university's contribution to efforts to track the prevalence of COVID-19 in a particualr community by testing its wastewater. Undergraduate Research Opportunities (URO) Showcase

October 8, 2019 

This year at the URO showcase Royce Ing described his past work, done in tandem with Farhan, where they investigated the patterns underlying quinolone resistance in various aquatic sources. He then discussed the prospective use of CRISPR/Cas to combat the growing threat of antibiotic resistance, a possibility that he will explore in his undergraduate thesis project.

Farhan Yusuf defended his thesis to complete his Masters degree on Prevalence and Characterization of Plasmid-mediated Quinolone Resistance in Various Aquatic Sources.

Faculty of Science's Paper of the Month

June 21, 2019

Farhan Yusuf's new article (external link, opens in new window)  regarding the dangers of antimicrobial resistance has been recognized by the Faculty of Science and been selected as the Paper of the Month (opens in new window) .
