The Geographic Analysis program (opens in new window)  counts more varsity athletes among its students than you would expected based on the program's small size.

This week, women's volleyballer and 4th-year Geographic Analysis student Tyra Krapp (external link, opens in new window)  was honoured as a star of the week by the TMU Bold athletics teams for her strong performance against Ottawa. Tyra also is a recipient of the 2024 Esri Canada GIS Scholarship for her outstanding grades in geographic information systems (GIS) courses and is on track to complete her degree at the end of this academic year.

Recognized for winning the men's 65kg division at the Pat Bolger Memorial Open on Sunday, wrestler and 3rd-year Geographic Analysis student Dechlan Papadopoulos (external link, opens in new window)  received the star of the week honour as well as athlete of the week. An in-depth profile on the TMU Bold web site outlines Dechlan's path to university sports, the traveling it has entailed, and his aspirations during his remaining time in the Geographic Analysis program.

Congratulations to Dechlan and Tyra, and best of luck for the remaining season!
