Biography
Hirra Farooqi is a trailblazer and advocate for underrepresented voices in film. Hirra founded the Muslim International Film Festival, an org that champions diversity on screen, amplifying untold narratives and celebrates Muslim Excellence in film. Graduating from TMU with her Bachelor of Journalism, she transitioned to documentary filmmaking, learning the impact of visual storytelling on projects like The Secret Marathon (external link) and Broken Courage (external link) . As a producer, her work includes the music video Sahiban as well as three short films Solatia (external link) , Kya Poem (external link) , and One Day (external link) , each highlighting important topics and uplifting marginalized voices.
