Event Objectives:

  • Share personal insights and experiences conducting Indigenous research within a Western academic framework, highlighting challenges and successes
  • Highlight epistemological tensions, including how Indigenous research methods and worldviews contrast with conventional Western research approaches in nursing scholarship
  • Promote reflexivity in educators to critically reflect on their assumptions about research - in support of students using Indigenous methodologies
