Fashion Design Alumna, Maegan McWade Wins STITCHED on SLICE TV
Fashion Design Alumna and founder of Shoppe and Tailor, Maegan McWade wins in STITCHED on Slice TV. McWade describes her experience on STITCHED as “completely nerve wracking to utter joy.”
McWade’s motivation to create socially aware and responsible designs comes from studying localism while growing up. Localism is the practice of using and living off resources within 100km of where you live. The idea comes from the notion of limiting your environmental footprint to consumer and create less waste. In an era of where textile waste is one of the largest waste contributors, Shoppe and Tailor promotes a philosophy of slow fashion. Shoppe and Tailor, a boutique tailoring, bespoke and alterations shop promotes buying long last quality clothing, repairing, recycling and altering garments for fit. Beyond promoting sustainable fashion, Shoppe and Tailor is proud of their inclusive tailoring space where each guests individuality is celebrated.
