Dr. Ingrid Mida collaborates with UK-based artist and researcher, Dr. Sarah Casey who receiving funding from both Lancaster University and British Arts Council to make the collaboration possible. Dr. Mida will be curating “Presence and Absence” that includes Dr. Casey’s drawings and related dress artifacts from the FRC in the MLC Gallery from May 2019 to July 2019.

In working with Dr. Casey on this project, Dr. Mida has come to see the FRC as the site of creative resurrection. Dr. Mida has realized that dress artifacts are more than just primary evidence for materials culture research but offers a range of possibilities for creative and artistic reinterpretations.
