Sign up for Fire Extinguisher Training

To: All employees
Environmental Health and Safety is inviting all employees to participate in Fire Extinguisher Training on either June 5 or July 23, 2019.
With this hands-on training, attendees will learn how fire extinguishers work and how to use one to safely and effectively extinguish a fire. This training will be facilitated by Act First Safety (external link) and will take place outdoors by the north entrance of the Quad. The session will consist of a practical outdoor portion where each participant will get the opportunity to extinguish a real fire. Each session is one hour long and can accommodate a maximum of 10 participants at a time.
The training fee is $50 per person. All participants who sign up must receive approval and confirmation of a cost centre from their manager.
Fire wardens are invited to refresh existing training
This training is optional but highly recommended for all existing fire wardens who would like to augment their basic training. Fire wardens play a critical role in protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of Ryerson’s community members in the event of a fire, and we’re appreciative of their commitment and support.
