Reflect & Resist Series: Exploring Anti-Black Racism through Live Actor Simulations

October 08, 2021

The Reflect and Resist: Exploring Anti-Black Racism through Live Actor Simulations workshop series uses Live Actor Simulation at Ryerson's simulation 207: Fallout After Violence, to share one character’s perspective on what it is to be a Black man navigating the world. Attendees interacted with the character to further explore the issue of anti-Black racism and its effects beyond mainstream conversations.

In the second installment of the series participants dove deeper into understanding how anti-Black racism can be addressed in the classroom and how to approach this crucial discussion (and other critical topics) through live actor simulation. Participants left the series with a deeper understanding of how live actor simulation can be a valuable tool for advancing critical discussions, while bringing learning to life.
