About the authors
Daniel Allen Cox
Daniel Allen Cox (external link) is the author of ”I Felt the End Before It Came: Memoirs of a Queer Ex-Jehovah’s Witness” (external link) , and four novels nominated for the Lambda Literary, Ferro-Grumley and ReLit awards. Daniel’s essays have appeared in the Guardian, the Globe and Mail, Electric Literature, Literary Hub, The Malahat Review, Maisonneuve and elsewhere, and have been recognized by the National Magazine Awards, Best Canadian Essays, and The Best American Essays.
Nancy Jo Cullen
Nancy Jo Cullen’s fourth poetry collection, published by Wolsak and Wynn, is ”Nothing Will Save Your Life” (external link) . Her poetry and fiction have appeared in The Puritan, Grain, Filling Station, Plenitude, Prairie Fire, Arc, This Magazine, Best Canadian Poetry 2018, Room, The Journey Prize and Best Canadian Fiction 2012. Nancy is the 2010 recipient for the Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBTQ+ Emerging Writers. Her novel, “The Western Alienation Merit Badge”, was short-listed for the 2020 Amazon Canada First Novel Award.
Brian Francis
Brian Francis is the author of four books. His most recent is the non-fiction book, ”Missed Connections: A Memoir in Letters Never Sent” (external link) , which was a finalist for the 2022 Trillium Book Award. The Toronto Star called it “thoughtful, funny, poignant, insightful and honest.” The book is inspired by a personal ad he placed in the newspaper in 1992. Brian writes a monthly writing advice column, Ask the Agony Editor, for Quill & Quire magazine and is a regular contributor to CBC Radio's The Next Chapter.
