Pride at the University - Positive Space Events - Events and Awards - Equity

As part of a return to in-person, community-centric Pride, Positive Space is hosting a weekly film series throughout the month of June.

Join us for tears, laughter, thrills, and popcorn! Throughout the month, we will screen a variety of films that represent, reflect on, and celebrate our diverse community.

Plus ones are welcome. RSVP is strongly encouraged.

Night 3: Tuesday, June 21, 6:00 p.m.

We’ll close our series with Tangerine, the 2015 feature by Sean Baker (Florida Project, Red Rocket). Arguably the most beautifully shot film to ever be recorded on an iPhone 5S (sorry to your cat videos), Tangerine is the story of an enduring friendship between two Black trans women in a single fluorescent-coloured Los Angeles day. Come see why Star Mya Taylor won ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the 2015 Independent Spirit Awards. Read more about the film here (external link) .

Trigger Warnings: violence, transphobic language and violence, sex work, drug use.
