In honour of International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination, join us at the 14th annual Viola Desmond Awards and Bursary Ceremony to honour the achievements and legacies of Black women, past and present.

At this event, you’ll have an opportunity to recognize five award recipients and two student bursary recipients, hear from community leaders and celebrate the achievements of Black women transforming their communities.

This year’s ceremony is dedicated to Ms. Wanda Robson (1926 to 2022), sister of Viola Desmond and trailblazer in her own right. Ms. Robson was a community educator, an author and an activist who fought to have her sister’s impact publicly acknowledged.

Come build on Wanda and Viola’s legacies and ensure that the significant yet little-known contributions of even more phenomenal Black women are recognized.

Live captioning and ASL will be provided
