Liberation on the Dance Floor

Liberation on the Dance Floor is a collaborative research project exploring histories of collective dance in lesbian and gay liberation movements in Canada. Our exhibition at Hart House at the University of Toronto focuses on the Gay Community Dance Committee, a volunteer-run, coalition-building organization that raised over $250,000 for LGBTQ2+ community groups in the 1980s.

Can't make the party but want to see the show? You can view the exhibition during Hart House's regular hours (7 days/week, 7AM-11PM) between October 1, 2023-November 3, 2023.
