Literatures of Modernity Celebrates 5th Anniversary

To mark the end of five successful years, the MA program in Literatures of Modernity, in Ryerson’s Department of English, invited back its alumni, students, faculty and staff for a birthday bash at the Arts and Letters Club. Our special guest for the evening, Sam Tanenhaus, Editor of the New York Times Book Review, amused and inspired with his tips and tales from the trenches. The theme of the evening, “Working in the World of Ideas,” was also the subject of a workshop the following morning during which students and alumni gathered for further conversation with Sam about his career, and the ups and downs of life as a writer and editor.
