Engineering & Architectural Science Day 2025

Engineering & Architectural Science Day is an annual event that brings final-year engineering and architectural science students together to present year-end projects. This is a momentous milestone in an undergraduate student’s journey, as students work in teams to explore exciting areas of research with real-world applications. 

Below is important information for participating students, faculty members, and visitors.

Agenda / Schedule

Poster requirements for student teams

Poster dimensions

  • 24" wide x 36" high, PORTRAIT format only.
  • The poster must be printed or mounted on POSTER board aka “foam core” (i.e. not regular paper) so that it can stand on an easel.
    • Each group is responsible for bringing the poster attached to the poster board on April 25th.

Poster content requirements

The poster must contain the following key information:

  1. Title of the poster
  2. Name of the authors
  3. Motivation: Brief the motivation of your project
  4. Your approach: Detail your approaches using text/figures/tables/charts
  5. Conclusion: Highlight your contributions and findings of the research

FEAS awards for student teams

The FEAS Dean’s Office is offering awards to celebrate outstanding final-year projects across Engineering and Architectural Science. These include:

Program awards (1 per program)

  • Award amount: $1,000 award, one per program, for the most exceptional project in each undergraduate program.
  • How to apply: Students must apply to be eligible for the award. More details about how to apply and the evaluation criteria will be shared soon. Please stay tuned for updates!

The Social Impact Award

  • The FEAS Dean’s Office Capstone Impact Award is presented to a team of final-year students who develop an innovative solution addressing a real and pressing societal challenge. This award recognizes projects that demonstrate the potential for positive impact on communities or industries, showcasing the students' ability to apply their skills to solve critical real-world problems.
  • Award amount: $5,000 (to be divided evenly between team members) 
  • How to apply: Visit the Innovation Boost Zone awards webpage (external link) . Submissions require a 1-2 minute pitch video and a 1-page executive summary.
  • Deadline to apply: Monday, April 7th, 2025 
  • Evaluation criteria: Visit the Innovation Boost Zone awards webpage (external link)   (external link) to review the criteria. 

The Innovation Award

  • The Innovation Award is presented to a team of final-year students who demonstrate a groundbreaking application of technology or the creation of a truly unique and innovative technological solution.
  • Award amount: $5,000 (to be divided evenly between team members)
